starting vdr with analogtv, what should happen?

I guess a bit...

Your only card in the computer is an analog tv card?

You already have the first part for receiving, the analogtv
plugin.

Now you also need something for viewing. For example the
xine plugin.

Besides that, be warned that, to my knowledge, analogtv is not 
as stable as you might expect.
