Had the same problem myself yesterday, moving from 2.6.8.1 to 2.6.10 only to find out that alps_tdlb7 had been removed. After digging into the source code I found out that it's been renamed/merged to the sp8870 module. I'm still unsure how the hotplug firmware loading works in 2.6.10, but it seems to work... (in 2.6.8.1 you had to explicit configure the module to hotplug load the firmware along with the path to the firmware) /Richard
