There should be no dots after "[options]", as the "options" word already implies that it can be multiple ones. (True, it's not fully precise -- better would have been: "[option...]". But don't use that. Please use what all the other synopses use: "[options]", sans dots.) Also, the convention nowadays is to put placeholder words in lower case and between angular brackets: "[<irq>] [<pattern>]..." Benno
