No, no extra time needed. You can go ahead with -rc2. (I still have 900 strings to look at, but won't have much time this week, and can't look further ahead than that.)
The cleanup can continue in the master branch, but the changes will not go into v2.41. I have no problem with this, but I'd like to be considerate of your work and the translators.
