blkid: Bug in LUKS detection?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

We may have hit a bug in blkid. I have had reports from at least two people that blkid does not properly detect all their LUKS devices.

Running "blkid /dev/sdXY" returns nothing for one LUKS device, but returns
UUID="$some_uuid" TYPE="crypto_LUKS"
for another device (both on the same machine). However, both devices' UUIDs are shown properly using cryptsetup luksDump/luksUUID. It is also completely reproducible which device will work with blkid and which one won't.

I am lost here, as I cannot reproduce the problem on my LUKS volumes. Can you tell us what we can do to narrow this problem down? Please CC me on replies.

Regards,
Thomas
