Just tried building util-linux-ng on a system that has neither the e2fsprogs blkid nor the volume_id development headers installed, and with a default configure run it fails. That seems somewhat counter-intuitive to me as we have a perfectly good libblkid in tree. Any reason not to juse use it by default?
