I use no specific distribution, I am just building my own operating system for fun. I am really using util-linux-ng, I downloaded it myself on the official website. agetty and login programs are include in util-linux-ng and I am using them. I use Linux-PAM-1.0.1. I can't access /var/log/messages because I can't login. Why do you think I have this messages "(none) login:" and can't be logged? Thank you. 2008/8/17 Karel Zak <kzak@xxxxxxxxxx>: > On Sun, Aug 17, 2008 at 01:47:47AM +0200, GNULinuxSlackware wrote: >> Hello, >> I use util-linux-ng-2.14, sysvinit-2.86 and linux-2.6.25.6. >> After init boot sequence, I get the message : >> "(none) login:" >> I type my login. >> I stand 3 seconds then again this message : >> "(none) login:" >> What is the problem? > > {min,a,...}getty program, PAM, whatever... > > Anything interesting in your /var/log/messages?
