Linux adopted TIOCSETD from BSD which had it before Linux was
even created. In fact, the ldattach program in util-linux-ng is
modelled after the BSD command of the same name. But most of the
actual line disciplines (N_* constants) are Linux specific, so I
guess the patch is still the best way to go.
