the fdisk code has a bunch of defined(__alpha__) checks which seems to make it not possible to work on OSF partitioned disks unless you're running on an alpha machine ... no idea the amount of work needed to get this working for everyone, so perhaps this should just be tossed into the TODO ? -mike
