Kaibab National Forest offices in Williams to offer limited services

WILLIAMS, Ariz., Aug. 22, 2019The Kaibab National Forest Supervisor's Office and the Williams Ranger District office, which are both located in Williams, will offer limited public services due to lack of staffing beginning this week and continuing indefinitely.

The Kaibab National Forest Supervisor's Office, which is located at 800 S. 6th Street, will be closed for all public services beginning on Monday, Aug. 26. It will remain closed until further notice.

The Williams Ranger District office, which is located at 742 S. Clover Road, will remain open for general public information during normal business hours. However, services including the issuance of permits will only be available on the following days of the week:

  • All types of fuelwood (firewood) permits will only be available on Wednesdays and Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Cinder permits will only be available on Wednesdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

At this time, there are no other Kaibab National Forest offices in the Williams area that offer fuelwood or cinder permits. Members of the public who wish to obtain these permits should plan to visit the Williams Ranger District office on the above-specified days of the week. Maps and recreational passes will continue to be offered during all normal business hours.

Kaibab National Forest managers recognize that the limited services may cause inconvenience and appreciate the public's patience as they seek options to resume normal services as soon as possible. To contact the Williams Ranger District, please call (928) 635-5600.
