Race scheduled this weekend on North Kaibab Ranger District FREDONIA, Ariz., June 11, 2019 — Motorists can expect delays if planning to visit Big Saddle, Crazy Jug or Monument Points this Saturday, June 15, due to a half marathon scheduled to occur along forest roads between the three locations. Plan to add extra time to your travels if driving within the vicinity of these areas on race day. Officials expect up to 1,000 racers, as well as, additional support personnel for logistical and health and safety support.
The race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. near the meadow at Big Saddle cabin in the southwest part of the district and continue along open Forest Service roads between Big Saddle, Crazy Jug, and Monument Points. Motorists are reminded to
use caution when driving in the vicinity of racers. Officials expect the area to be clear by 3 p.m.
