Coconino NF offices closed, fees waived on Thanksgiving Day

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., Nov. 20, 2018, For Immediate Release — All Coconino National Forest offices and ranger stations will be closed Thursday (Nov. 22) in observance of Thanksgiving Day. Forest offices will resume regular business hours Friday (Nov. 23), for the exception of the Forest Supervisor’s Office—which will resume regular business hours Monday (Nov. 26).

Palatki, Honanki and V Bar V cultural sites will also be closed Thursday.

As part of a nationwide fee-free event, the Red Rock Ranger District will waive fees associated with the Red Rock Pass Fee Program sites and amenities on Thanksgiving Day.

Areas not included in the fee waiver program are campgrounds and recreation sites managed under concession contract, including West Fork (Call O’ the Canyon), Grasshopper Point, Crescent Moon Ranch and Beaver Creek day-use area.

Fire personnel, law enforcement officers and recreation staff will be on duty during the holiday for the safety of forest visitors and to remind people to practice good campfire safety and respect public lands by practicing Leave No Trace ethics.
