Coconino National Forest firefighters are responding to a wildfire, Tinder Fire, east of C.C. Cragin Reservoir in East Clear Creek today at approximately 11:45 a.m. Several firefighter crews, the Payson Task Force, an air tanker, an air lead and a Type I helicopter have
responded to a more than 50-acre fire on the Mogollon Rim Ranger District burning on forest land. Approximately 30 firefighters are working on the ground to stop the wildfire. Drivers in the area of
Forest Road 95 are asked to drive cautiously while near the area because of smoke, response vehicles and personnel in the area. The fire is producing a smoke which may be limit visibility on state Route 87 and local forest roads.
Arizona Department of Transportation has responded to the area to assess traffic needs. Notifications of fires are provided regularly by news releases and by the following online resources:
