Coconino National Forest offices will be closed on Veterans Day,
fee free days in the Red Rock Ranger District
Flagstaff, Ariz., Nov. 6, 2017, For Immediate Release —
All Coconino National Forest offices and ranger stations will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10, except for the Red Rock Ranger District Visitor’s Center in honor of Veteran’s
Day. Regular business hours will resume in the offices on Monday, Nov. 13.
The Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest will waive fees associated with many recreation sites and amenities Nov. 10-12 during the Veteran’s Day weekend.
Fees will be waived for sites including Palatki, Honanki, V Bar V Cultural sites, and multiple trailheads.
Areas not included in the fee waiver program are campgrounds and recreation sites managed under concession contract,
including Grasshopper Point, Crescent Moon Ranch and West Fork (Call of the Canyon).
Fire personnel, law enforcement officers and recreation staff will be on duty during the holiday for the safety of
forest visitors and to remind people to practice good campfire safety and respect public lands by practicing Leave No Trace ethics.
