Construction at Cathedral Rock Trailhead closes additional parking area
Sedona, Ariz., May 31, 2017, For Immediate Release —
The Red Rock Ranger District and the City of Sedona will be closing the Cathedral Rock additional parking lot and connector pathway on June 5 (Monday) for construction
and public safety. The existing pathway connecting the new city parking area to the bathroom and existing U.S. Forest Service parking area and
trailhead is being completed, which will involve heavy equipment and delivering loads of materials to the site.
Construction workers anticipate the work will be complete on June 9 (Friday) by 6 p.m., and parking will be open for public
use that evening. The USFS parking area and trailhead will remain open during the period of construction, however there will be limited parking
available. Users can access Cathedral Rock Trail from the Yavapai Vista Trailhead or Baldwin Trailhead, but be advised it will add
additional miles to the hike and hikers should plan accordingly. For more information about trails in the Sedona area, please call the Red Rock Ranger District Visitor Center at 928-203-2900. ###
