Fees for some day-use sites and campgrounds to increase in 2017
Flagstaff, Ariz., Jan. 12, 2017, For Immediate Release —
The Forest Service has approved a request by Recreation Resource Management (RRM) to increase fees at concessionaire-run campgrounds and two day-use sites.
RRM requested the increase in response to the recent Arizona minimum wage increase and holds the concession permit to operate campgrounds and day-use sites for the Coconino National
Forest.
Flagstaff Ranger District day-use sites managed by RRM will see a fee increase of $1. Red Rock Ranger District day-use site fees will remain the same.
RRM campground fees in the Flagstaff Ranger District will increase by $2 per night for family sites and $10 for group sites. Red Rock District campground fees will also increase
by $2 per night for family sites. Red Rock group site fees will increase by $5 to $10 depending on the number of people in the group.
Campgrounds are usually limited to a family size group or eight people and one vehicle. Details and more information on individual campgrounds and associated fees can be found on
the Coconino National Forest website at
tinyurl.com/CocCampgrounds.
A portion of collections are retained by RRM for campground maintenance and improvements. Fees also support Forest Service personnel to provide public education, maintenance, and
enforcement services.
