Fuller Fire Update: Heavy rains moderate fire behavior Monday August 1, 2016 Completion: 47% Acres: 14,541 Start Date: June 29, 2016 Cause: Lightning Location: Point Imperial, N. Rim Grand Canyon NP Total Personnel: 216 Fuels/Topography: Timber, grass, rugged terrain Firefighters performed fuel mitigation yesterday and will continue to do so today along the perimeter of the fire.
Fire spread was very minimal due to the amount of rain the area received last night and the night before. More precipitation is expected throughout the rest of the week with localized flooding possible.
