Ketchikan Cooperative Weed Management Area partnership Ketchikan, Alaska, May 29, 2016–An Informal public meeting to discuss creation of a Ketchikan Cooperative Weed Management Area (CWMA) partnership is being held on Tuesday, May 3 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The location is the Ketchikan Public Library small multi-purpose room (1110 Copper Ridge Lane).
"The objective is to create a cross-boundary partnership that includes all landowners in the Ketchikan area," said Ketchikan-Misty Fiords Ranger District Botanist Karen Hutten. "The objective is not to accomplish work on USFS land per se,
but to establish a public group which the USFS and other landowners would be a part of so that invasive plants could be managed most effectively. Your experience, observations, and ideas are needed." For more information, contact Karen Hutten at 907-228-4115 or email at
