Multi-agency emergency response training Saturday at Pittman Valley
Williams, Ariz., April 20, 2016—For Immediate Release. Members of the Wildland Fire Advisory Board will be conducting a multi-agency emergency response exercise Saturday,
April 23, east of Williams at the Pittman Valley Work Center. This training will focus on the use of helicopters during emergency medical evacuations and the importance of moving critically injured patients to definitive care in the safest and most timely
manner possible.
Two helicopters along with multiple emergency vehicles and approximately 50 responders will be attending the session, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“This type of preparedness training is critical to increase readiness and interoperability of local emergency responders in the event of a real life incident,” said Jim Burton, assistant fire management officer of the
Williams Ranger District.
The Wildland Fire Advisory Board is an organization of 14 local emergency response organizations and agencies from across western Coconino County that are committed to providing a coordinated emergency response
to all-risk incidents through cooperative preplanning and joint training.
Members of the media are invited to attend and observe the exercise. Those media representatives who are interested should contact Bob Blasi at (928) 635-5653 or
bobblasi@xxxxxxxxx to coordinate attendance.
