Contact: Brady Smith Camillo fire final update Flagstaff, Ariz., June 29, 2015, For Immediate Release —
Monsoon rains have started to drop moisture over the last few days in the Camillo fire management area and this moisture has currently put a hold on any further interior ignitions. As this fire has
died down and concluding, resources are being released today and tomorrow. Forest and fire managers are anticipating lifting the closure over the management area by Thursday.
This will be the final update regarding this fire. CAMILLO FIRE OVERVIEW Current Size: 23,866 acres Operations Today: Fire personnel are removing hazard trees for public safety near dispersed camping sites
and roads within the fire management area. Crews will continue to monitor and patrol areas along the management area boundary.
Smoke:
With the onset of monsoon rains, smoke should be minimal.
Closures: The southern boundary of the closure area is FR 135, which is closed to
the public. Residents of the Mahan Park subdivision who regularly use FR 135 from Lake Mary Road may use the alternate route of FR 294 off Lake Mary Road and the section of FR 135 that accesses their subdivision. Other closures include lands, roads, and trails
in the vicinity of Little Mormon Mountain. This includes Forest Roads 92, 124, and a portion of 82. The area on the south side of FR 125 will be closed, but lands north of the road as well as FR 125 itself will remain open with access to Kinnikinick Lake.
