Fireworks reminder JUNEAU, Alaska– The Tongass National Forest reminds residents, visitors, and campers that all types of fireworks are prohibited in developed recreations
areas managed by the Forest Service, including campgrounds, picnic areas, and day use areas.
Those possessing or discharging fireworks or other pyrotechnic devices in Tongass developed recreations areas may be fined of up to $5,000 and/or receive
up to six months in jail. We do not want to spoil anyone’s holiday, but we want the holiday to be enjoyable and safe for all forest visitors.
