Today Show broadcasting live from the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center JUNEAU, Alaska–The NBC Today Show is scheduled to broadcast live from the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center on July 10, 2014.
The program airs live in the Eastern Time Zone so broadcasting will start at 3:00 a.m. Alaska Time at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center Pavilion.
The Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area usually has a nightly closure from midnight to 6 a.m. For this live broadcast of the Today Show, the closure will be lifted at 2:00 a.m. for the public to view the live outdoor broadcast. The public is welcome to observe
and participate AFTER 2:00 a.m. NO overnight camping will be allowed. The Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center is the most popular Forest Service visitor center. Black bears also like the area and may walk by as part of their normal and natural
routine. To keep bears wild and out of trouble, leave all food and flavored drinks at home or in your car.
Bring a warm jacket. Temperatures in the pavilion are normally quite chilly with breezes off the glacial lake.
