Deer hunter survey station to be operated in Hoonah

The Forest Service, in cooperation with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, will be operating a deer hunter survey station in Hoonah to gather biological information from harvested deer and general information from hunters coming in from the field.  The station will operate on Kennel Creek road east of Hoonah airport beginning Sunday September 15, 2013.  Hunters are asked to fill out a survey sheet for each hunting trip and stop at the survey station with harvested deer. Survey sheets are available at the survey station, Hoonah Indian Association or the Forest Service and can be returned to these same locations. Your cooperation is appreciated and it will help us better understand deer harvest patterns and population trends in the area.
