Waterline Road reopens to non-motorized use
District firefighters and recreation staff have worked over 3600 hours removing hazardous trees to reduce safety issues.
“Although we’ve addressed the most imminent hazards, many are still out there,” says Pat McGervey, Recreation Planner for the Flagstaff Ranger District. Each visitor is responsible for his or her own safety. Users should be constantly aware of their surroundings. “Don’t stop or linger around burned trees, and avoid the trail during windy days.”
Crews have installed multiple signs along the trail reminding visitors of these risks.
Additional information, including details about all the other restoration and recovery work the District has accomplished in the burn area is available on the website at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/coconino/schultz or by calling the Flagstaff Ranger District at 928-526-0866. ###
