Smokey Bear in Williams

WILLIAMS, Ariz. – There is a new bear in town. The Kaibab National Forest, City of Williams and the Williams Chamber of Commerce recently teamed up together to bring Smokey Bear to Williams. The new Smokey Bear statue was installed at the Williams Grand Canyon Visitor’s Center Monday.

Sami Schinnell, Kaibab Fire Prevention, said, “We want people to remember the fire prevention message year round. Having Smokey Bear stationed in town where the forest and the community meet is a great way to remind folks to always practice fire safety.”

If you have any questions, please contact Sami Schinnell, Fire Prevention, 928-635-5637.
