Summary: Firefighters have made considerable progress in the containment of the Canyon Fire, which is now 75 percent contained. Mop up operations are ongoing and the fire is mostly smoldering with an occasional single tree torching. Many resources have demobilized, and the remaining firefighters are actively patrolling the perimeters and extinguishing hot spots. Highway 87 is open to motorists.
Location: Originated approximately 15 miles north/northeast of Blue Ridge Reservoir in the Jacks Canyon area near Highway 87.
