Forest thinning to begin adjacent to Lake Mary Road Flagstaff, AZ – As part of ongoing efforts in the Mountainaire Forest Health and Fuels Reduction Project, contractors will begin forest thinning activities west of Lake Mary Road (Forest Highway 3) between Frontier Road and Forest Road 132. Thinning will be visible from Lake Mary Road but will not affect traffic. Work will begin within the week, and crews will continue to thin approximately 600 acres of National Forest over the next two to three months. Visitors and residents should use caution while in the area between Mountainaire and Lake Mary Road. Be aware of working crews and heavy equipment.
