Managers Cancel Scott Prescribed Fire
TUSAYAN, Ariz. – Fire managers are postponing plans to begin the 540-acre Scott Prescribed Fire on the Tusayan Ranger District this week. The National Weather Service is predicting strong gusty
winds Friday that are not favorable for the burn.
The project area is about ten miles east of Tusayan, starting near the Grandview Lookout Tower and extending five miles south and east, next to the Arizona Trail. Crews will continue to evaluate
conditions for possible burning at a later date.
