Kaibab National Forest Teams up with Local Agencies
in Wildland Firefighting Drill
WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Members of the Wildland Fire Advisory Council (WFAC) will gather Saturday, April 30 for their annual multi-agency emergency response training drill. The training exercises will be held near the Williams Airport.
Federal, state and local council participants will spend most of the day practicing wildland firefighting techniques and testing equipment to improve coordination and cooperation between assisting agencies.
The training is developed as a simulated wildland fire with participants receiving operations briefings and assignments. “The WFAC is committed to working, training and preparing together for fires and other incidents. This annual training helps us accomplish this goal,” said Ben Plumb, Williams Ranger District Engine Captain and Incident Commander for the training.
There will be personnel and equipment in and around the airport. Please use caution if traveling in the area.
