Kaibab National Forest Proposes
Greenway Trail and Parking Lot Project

TUSAYAN, Ariz. – The Kaibab National Forest is proposing a project that authorizes the National Park Service to construct, operate, and maintan a paved pedestrian/bike trail, adjacent dirt equestrian trail, and a parking lot near the community of Tusayan. The proposed Greenway Trail and Parking Lot project is located on Forest Service land, west of State Highway 64, adjacent to the National Geographic Visitor Center Complex.

The project is proposed to provide an alternative means to access Grand Canyon National Park for hikers, cyclists, and equestrian users. The parking lot would provide approximately 100 passenger vehicle parking spaces and include an automated park entrance pass kiosk, restrooms, trailhead/parking lot signs, and an information kiosk.
