Tentative prescribed fire plans for the week of October 19


Flagstaff, AZ – Pending favorable conditions, fire managers are planning prescribed fires in the following projects October 19-23.
All prescribed fire activity is dependent on personnel availability, weather – including ventilation conditions, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).

Monday, October 19
EITHER
Blue Ridge Urban Interface (BRUI) Project – 600 acres approximately 11 miles northeast of Clint’s Well off Hwy 87, west of the Starlight Pines and Pine Canyon subdivisions. Smoke will disperse to the north. Some smoke may briefly impact Hwy 87 and the immediate area overnight.
OR
East Clear Creek Project – 500 acres approximately 20 miles south of the community of Blue Ridge between Knoll Lake and Forest Road 300 (Rim Road). Smoke will disperse to the north.


Projects crews will consider for the remainder of the week:
Continuing BRUI and East Clear Creek
Lake Mary South of Lower Lake Mary and Lake Mary Meadows
Kachina West of I-17, South of Kachina Village
Pete North of the San Francisco Peaks
