Monday May 4, 2009: Due to unfavorable conditions, the prescribed burn on the Fort Valley Project planned for today has been canceled.  



Coconino National Forest planned prescribed fire activity for the week of May 4
Remember that all prescribed fire activity is dependant on weather, crew availability, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (
www.azdeq.gov).

Monday, May 4

Fort Valley Project:
Approximately 120 acres off Snowbowl Road and Freidlein Prairie Road (Forest Road 522).  Smoke will move northeast with the forecast winds, but some residual smoke may linger in the Baderville area overnight.  


Tuesday, May 5

A-1 Project
, located on the east side of A-1 mountain, northwest of Downtown Flagstaff


Friday, May 8

Fort Valley Project
, northeast of Hwy 180 and west of Schultz Pass, near the Lower Moto Trail.


The Forest's prescribed fire activity is also available on the Prescribed Fire Hotline at 928-226-4607.  Additional information can be found on the website,
