Washington, D.C., November 8, 2023 – On Thursday, November 9, Agriculture Deputy Secretary Torres Small will hold a press call to announce a new effort by USDA to further support the U.S. specialty crops sector and the competitiveness of its products. This announcement reflects ongoing actions by the Biden-Harris Administration and USDA to increase competition, aid small and mid-sized producers and support specialty crops producers domestically and in global markets. Deputy Secretary Torres Small is making this announcement as officials from the Administration are traveling the country as part of the Investing in Rural America Event Series to highlight how the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments are bringing new revenue to farms, increased economic development in rural towns and communities, and more opportunity throughout the country.
