WASHINGTON, May 21, 2023 – Tomorrow, Monday, May 22, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will host a press call, during which he will announce a significant investment by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Rural Partners Network (RPN) communities located in Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, West Virginia and Puerto Rico. The investments will allow families living in these RPN-affiliated rural and Tribal communities to access good-paying jobs, improved infrastructure, and affordable housing and quality health care, supporting their long-term visions for strong, local economies. The announcement is part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda to grow the American economy from the bottom up and the middle out by rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure, creating good-paying jobs, and building a clean energy economy to tackle the climate crisis and make our communities more resilient. Secretary Vilsack will be joined on the call by Caitlin Cain, the Director of Rural LISC, and Matthew Holmes, Chief Executive Officer of the National Rural Water Association.
