WASHINGTON, May 2, 2023 – TOMORROW, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will participate in a news conference call with U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) to announce USDA actions to strengthen local and regional food systems.
These actions will invest in and provide localized assistance to small and mid-sized food and farm businesses in Ohio and across the nation, helping to create new jobs and economic opportunities that allow these businesses to retain more of the revenue from their products, while bringing more market options to rural communities and increasing competition.
Secretary Vilsack and Senator Brown will be joined on the call by and Debbie Phillips, CEO, Rural Action in Southwest Ohio.
