WHAT: The United States government, led by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will host the AIM for Climate Summit, bringing together AIM for Climate partners from around the world to accelerate investment and support for climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation.
AIM for Climate, which is co-led by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States, seeks to enable global partnerships and solutions at the intersection of agriculture and climate change. Since its launch in 2021, the initiative has increased investment to more than $8 billion, launched 30 innovation sprints and expanded to more than 275 partners worldwide.
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and UAE Minister for Climate Change and Environment Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri will welcome partners to Washington to raise ambition, build collaborations and share knowledge in the lead-up to the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai Nov. 30 - Dec. 12, 2023.
