USDA Invitation to Press Call Announcing Significant Additional Investment to Combat the Wildfire Crisis in the West

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Good afternoon, this email is off the record and for planning purposes only.

You are invited to join a press call with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who will announce a significant investment in 11 additional fire-prone landscapes in seven Western states: Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. These landscapes will receive critical funding made possible by the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act to initiate much-needed work, including hazardous fuels treatment, strengthening community resilience to wildfires, and more. The additional investment comes as the Forest Service enters the second year of its strategy to confront the nation’s wildfire crisis.

The call will be on the record and take place tomorrow, January 18, at 2:30 PM ET. The contents of the call and any materials sent in advance are embargoed until Thursday, January 19, at 12PM ET.

Please RSVP at press@xxxxxxxx for dial-in information.

Best,

Allan
