WASHINGTON, Dec. 2, 2022 – On Monday, December 5, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will announce a new U.S. Department of Agriculture initiative that will support President Biden’s Cancer Moonshot mission to end cancer as we know it by accelerating the preventative science and research necessary to improve nutrition in support of better health outcomes for all Americans. This initiative will also help achieve the Biden-Harris Administration’s goals of ending hunger, improving nutrition and physical activity, and reducing diet-related diseases as set forth at the historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health and outlined in the National Strategy released the day before the Conference.
