WASHINGTON, D.C., September 6, 2022 – On Wednesday, September 7, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will participate in a virtual video teleconference with Marketing and Regulatory Programs Under Secretary Jenny Lester Moffitt and U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger (VA-7). During the conference, he will announce the details of USDA’s new Regional Business Food Centers, which he announced during his food systems transformation speech in June. The Regional Business Food Centers Program is funded in part by the American Rescue Plan and provides opportunities for producers to sell their products closer to home, strengthening regional and local food systems.
