WASHINGTON, D.C. August 19, 2022 – On Monday, August 22, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will announce in a virtual video teleconference with Marketing and Regulatory Programs Under Secretary Jenny Lester Moffitt the details of the new Organic Transition Program. This program, which Secretary Vilsack announced during his food systems transformation speech in June, is funded in part by the American Rescue Plan and will provide opportunities for new and beginning farmers to transition to organic farming operations while expanding direct consumer access to organic foods.
