WASHINGTON, D.C., July 19, 2022 – On July 21, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will deliver a speech to announce new programming and the availability of funding provided by Section 1006 of the American Rescue Plan. These announcements will support efforts to enhance land, credit, and market access for historically underserved producers, and support career development opportunities for Next Gen Ag leaders in partnership with eligible Minority-Serving institutions. The announcements are part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s ongoing efforts to ensure historically underserved producers and groups have the resources, tools, and support to succeed. This announcement is the latest in a series of announcements building momentum around USDA’s historic commitment to center equity in decision making, policymaking and lower barriers to access USDA programming.
The speech will be livestreamed from USDA headquarters in Washington, D.C. Following the speech, Secretary Vilsack will hold a media teleconference with members of the press.
