Catherine Cochran, USDA FSIS: So say you’re at the meat counter and you want to cook a steak for dinner that night, but you’re not quite sure how high you’re supposed to cook it, maybe if you are going to have enough time to cook it. You can look it up in Ask Karen. Mobile Ask Karen has food safety information on all types of food. You can actually search through her data base of over thirteen hundred questions. You can sort by pork, by chicken, by beef, by even vegetables. We’ve got information on everything. You can also live-chat with a specialist. Anything you want to know about food safety. How high you’re supposed to cook something, to what temperature.
