USDA Rural Business Administrator Judith Canales to Host Media Call to Announce New Investments to Support Job Creation and Boost Economic Business Development in Rural America
WASHINGTON, September 30, 2011– MONDAY, USDA Rural Business Administrator for Rural Development Judith Canales to host media call to announce new investments to support job creation and promote economic and regional development across rural America.
Canales will also discuss the importance of the American Jobs Act, which President Obama unveiled earlier this month. The purpose of the American Jobs Act is simple: put more people back to work and put more money in the pockets of working Americans. The American Jobs Act is specific, it will put people back to work right now and it won’t add to the deficit. Through a combination of direct spending, such as infrastructure investments, and tax relief, such as an extension of the payroll tax cuts, it will lead to new American jobs.
The states receiving support from USDA include: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.
