Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Dallas Tonsager and Business Programs Administrator Judy Canales to Host Media Call to
Highlight New Energy Investments in Rural America
WASHINGTON, Sept. 15, 2011– TOMORROW, Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Dallas Tonsager and Business Programs Administrator Judy Canales to host media call to highlight new energy investments in rural America. These projects are being provided through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), a 2008 Farm Bill initiative. Today’s announcement includes loans and grants for more than 500 agricultural producers and rural small businesses across the country to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency measures in their operations.
The 49 states and Puerto Rico receiving support from USDA include:, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
