Agriculture Secretary Vilsack to Host Media Conference Call TODAY on USDA Efforts to Provide an Effective Safety Net and Disaster Assistance to Farmers and Ranchers

 

WASHINGTON, August 8, 2011— TODAY, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will host a media conference call to discuss USDA’s commitment to providing a strong effective safety net for America’s producers, to highlight the broad range of disaster assistance offered thus far in 2011, and to follow-up on USDA efforts to assist impacted producers, communities and markets.

 

Farmers and ranchers across the country have been affected by floods, drought, tornadoes and other natural disasters.  At the same time, America’s producers are resilient and will produce a strong year for American agriculture despite these challenging times.
