Agriculture Deputy Secretary Merrigan to Attend Opening of Pennsylvania Business Supporting Economic Growth and Job Creation
WASHINGTON, June 15, 2011 – On Friday, Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan will speak at the opening event for YorKitchen, a local business incubator in York, Pennsylvania, that is connecting the agricultural community with business opportunities and jobs.
The Deputy Secretary will discuss the importance of building a robust economic strategy for rural Pennsylvania and making sure that continued federal investments in rural communities create maximum benefit for all Pennsylvanians.
Last week, the President signed an Executive Order establishing the first White House Rural Council, which will focus on ways to bolster job growth and opportunities for rural families.
