Agriculture Secretary Vilsack and EPA Administrator Jackson to Host Media Conference Call to Discuss Meeting with Iowa Farmers and Ranchers

 

WASHINGTON, April 19, 2011 – TODAY, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson will host a national media conference call to discuss their visit with farmers, ranchers, and renewable energy leaders in Iowa.

 

Jackson and Vilsack will tour a livestock farm in Pleasantville, Iowa and a 1600 acre row crop farm in Prairie City, Iowa, to discuss USDA and EPA’s joint effort to highlight agriculture’s productivity and cutting-edge conservation practices. They will also tour REG Newton, LLC, a biodiesel plant in Newton, Iowa to discuss agriculture’s role in renewable energy development.
