UPDATED: Agriculture Secretary Vilsack and EPA Administrator Jackson to Travel Tomorrow to Iowa for Meetings with Farmers and Renewable Energy Leaders 

WASHINGTON, April 19, 2011 – TODAY, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will be joined by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson in Iowa to discuss USDA and EPA’s work with the agricultural community during visits to local farms and a biodiesel plant.

A press availability will follow the last event and will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m. CDT.

WHAT:          Tour of REG Newton, LLC, meeting with officials of the biodiesel plant to discuss renewable energy efforts.

WHAT:          Visit Gordon Wassenaar’s Farm, 1600 acre row crop farm.  Secretary Vilsack and Administrator Jackson will hold a press  availability following the visit to the  farm in Prairie City.
