  Agriculture Deputy Secretary Merrigan to Announce Specialty Crop Research and Extension Grants in 19 States
 
 
 
WASHINGTON, Oct. 25, 2010 – TODAY, Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan will host a national media conference call to announce 28 grants to solve specialty crop agriculture issues through research and extension activities. The projects funded address research and extension needs for crops that span the entire spectrum of specialty crops production.

States benefiting from this announcement include: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
