WASHINGTON, April 21, 2010 – TOMORROW, Agriculture Secretary Vilsack will join Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, Bill Gates, Co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, finance ministers from Canada, Spain and South Korea, and other senior government officials to announce an international commitment to fight global hunger and poverty. The announcement, scheduled to follow a closed press meeting at Treasury, comes in advance of this week’s G-20 Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors and meetings of the International Monetary Fund’s International Monetary and Financial Committee and the Joint World Bank-IMF Development Committee in Washington.

Congressional and White House press passes will not grant you access to Treasury. Please note if you have camera equipment.

US Press interested in attending must RSVP provide the appropriate information to the Department of Treasury ASAP in order to be cleared through security.

Press with camera equipment should arrive at the Moat Entrance (south side of the Treasury building, adjacent to the Hamilton entrance) no later than 9:00 a.m. to allow time for equipment sweeps and escorts to the Cash Room. No vehicles will be permitted onto Treasury grounds; equipment must be carried in. All other media can enter the Treasury building through the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance and should allow 45 minutes to clear through security. Final access to the Cash Room will be 10:45 a.m.
